At just $10 a class (or $8 if you prepay) it's a fantastic way to establish core strength and re-educate those neurons! The side effect of injuries, surgeries, stress and poor conditioning is restricted and dysfunctional movement that pulls the body out of its ideal alignment causing undue joint pain, muscle imbalances and inflexibility.
Functional movement training consists of graduated squat training, deadlift and overhead press. Anyone can do Global Movements! The program is universal and adjustable to meet the unique needs of each individual. In sync with the Global Healing philosophy, Global Movements facilitate each individual’s innate healing response and empowers individuals to create and maintain a vital mind, body, and spirit! April classes are slated on Wednesday nights as shown on the calendar below. Introducing Robert J. Wilson, CMT Although Rob has been an integral part of Global Healing Therapies since 2007, many of you have not had the opportunity to meet him. He is a leader in the Global Movements Program, and our resident massage therapist. We are so pleased to have him as part of our team, and to introduce him to you.
As I got older, I began to explore ways to use what I knew to help others. I was constantly helping friends and family to get on track with health and exercise programs. This was all very casual and nothing I had even considered for a career at the time. In fact, I went to college to study Russian as foreign language! Before long, I couldn’t ignore my true passion. I decided to drop out and attend massage therapy school. This was a life changing experience for me. I was exposed to an incredible amount of health and wellness information that armed me with tools to carry out my passion for helping people reclaim their health. For the next four or five years I dove head first into the massage community, exploring as many types of manual therapies that I could come across. Anything I could find to help people, I would use. In spite of this, I met little success in terms of creating real lasting change with my clients. It was at this time I had three realizations:
I knew then it was time for a more global view of treatment that included manual therapies, lifestyle education, and exercise training. Enter Global Healing Therapies. My introduction to Jonathan Tripodi and Dr. Janine Lex came as a welcome sign from the heavens! Here were two people who had come to similar conclusions I had, and not only that, they were putting it into action. I knew immediately I wanted to be part of this team. I was initially brought into the office as a massage therapy contractor, but I was aware right away that this was the venue to bring out my knowledge and experience of strength and conditioning. The synergy was immediate. The fusion of an eclectic variety of manual therapies, functional movement strategies, and chiropractic techniques covers a lot of ground in truly enhancing the quality of life of all who come through our doors. More Bad News for Splenda
Among the results in the study by Drs. Mohamed B. Abou-Donia, Eman M. El-Masry, Ali A. Abdel-Rahman, Roger E. McLendon and Susan S. Schiffman is evidence that, in the animals studied, Splenda reduces the amount of good bacteria in the intestines by 50%, increases the pH level in the intestines, contributes to increases in body weight, and affects the P-glycoprotein (P-gp) in the body in such a way that crucial health-related drugs could be rejected.
